Lapis Home acquires LoftZone

Seven years after first investing in the business, Lapis Home brings LoftZone fully into the group and will invest in its growth as an independent brand, supporting all installers and partners it serves today.

Lapis Home, the British parent company that invests in and scales specialist home improvement brands, today confirms that it has completed the acquisition of LoftZone, the company behind the patented StoreFloor raised loft boarding system, and other loft improvement products such as loft shelving systems.

The deal is the final step in a partnership that began in 2019, when Lapis Home became a shareholder in LoftZone. For 7 years, the two businesses have worked side by side. Lapis Home CEO Ben Crouch has sat on the LoftZone board since February 2025. Today, that relationship becomes full ownership.

LoftZone becomes the fifth brand in the Lapis Home group, alongside Instaloft, Instaspark, Garageflex and The Storage Nook Co. Like each of them, it will keep its own identity, and its own specialist focus, while benefiting from the operational backbone and shared services of the group.

The product and its leading installer, under one roof

StoreFloor solves a problem every UK homeowner with a loft recognises: how to create a strong, safe floor for storage without crushing the insulation below it. The system raises the boarding above the full depth of the insulation, so the loft stays warm and becomes usable space. Since its launch in 2011, StoreFloor has been fitted in more than 150,000 homes and has won a series of industry awards, including recognition at the Ideal Home Show.
Instaloft, the UK’s leading loft boarding specialist, has built its installations around StoreFloor, and it is LoftZone’s largest customer. Bringing both businesses into the same group creates clear advantages for each:
• For LoftZone: direct access to the field insight of the UK’s busiest StoreFloor installer, as well as Lapis Home’s strategic support to accelerate growth, in the UK and abroad.
• For Instaloft: a closer relationship with the team that designs and manufactures the system at the core of its service.
• For homeowners: better products, reaching more homes, through every LoftZone installer.

The Lapis Home backbone

Lapis Home is an operationally-led group, not a passive owner. It will give LoftZone the same support it provides to every brand in the group: leadership, marketing capability, technology, finance and operational infrastructure, backed by disciplined investment. That support is designed to accelerate product development, strengthen supply and grow StoreFloor’s reach in the UK and beyond.

Two independent brands, each built to its full potential

LoftZone joins Lapis Home as a brand in its own right, and will be managed independently from Instaloft. Lapis Home’s objective is to develop both brands independently, each to its full potential, while finding ways for them to support each other. Neither will depend on the other.
That principle shapes LoftZone’s commitment to its wider network. Every installer, distributor and retail partner remains central to its growth, and Lapis Home is committed to support them with the same standard of service they are accustomed to.

An Evolution, not a Revolution

Because the two businesses have worked closely together since 2019, the acquisition is a natural progression, and LoftZone’s customers, installers and suppliers will see no significant change in the short term.

Dave Raval and David Lennan, current CEO and Chairman of LoftZone, pass leadership of LoftZone to the Lapis Home executive team led by CEO Ben Crouch, but they will support the new leadership through a 3-month transition period before fully stepping down.

What they said

Ben Crouch, CEO of Lapis Home, said: “This is the moment a 7-year partnership becomes a permanent home. We have backed LoftZone since 2019, and I have seen first-hand from the board how strong this team and this product are. StoreFloor solves a real problem in homes across the country, and we intend to take it much further.

We will build LoftZone as an independent brand, with the investment, people and infrastructure to reach its full potential, and with every installer partner at the heart of its growth. Instaloft and LoftZone will make each other stronger, but neither will depend on the other. That is how we run every brand in our group.”

Dave Raval, CEO of LoftZone, added: “Our mission has always been to give homeowners a safer, smarter way to use their loft without compromising their insulation. Lapis Home has been part of our story since 2019, so this feels like the natural next chapter, not a new one. I am proud to hand LoftZone over to a team that understands it, believes in it and has the resources to grow it. Over the next 3 months, my focus is on making that handover seamless for our customers, our installers and our people.”
